Schedule an Appointment with a Medical Marijuana Doctor
At your appointment, you will speak with a Missouri-licensed physician who can approve you for medical marijuana use according to state guidelines. The medical marijuana doctor will discuss your medical history and experience with marijuana. The doctor will also be able to offer advice and answer questions you have concerning medical marijuana use. After the appointment, the physician will submit their approval online to the state. Now, you’re ready for the next step!
Register on the state website
The application for your medical marijuana card is done entirely online - there is no option to fill out a paper copy. If you have not already done so, you will need to register an account on the state website. You will fill out the registration form here. Be prepared to enter your legal name, email address, phone number, and social security number. You will also create a password that must be at least six characters long and feature one capital letter and one number. If you receive an error that an account already exists, that means you created one in the past. You can reset your password using the forgot password button.
Submit your Online application to the state
You should budget about 25 minutes to fill out and complete the online application for your medical marijuana card. To begin, you will click the “create new application” button on the left side of the screen. From the drop down menu, select “patient.” Finally, you’ll select “new patient application” and begin to fill it out. From this point forward, the website is fairly intuitive, but there are some resources below if you need them.

Wait for Approval
The state legally has 30 days to approve or reject your application. However, most patients hear back via email within 2-3 weeks. Once the state approves your medical marijuana card, they will email you. Then, you can download it and print it out. You may also save a picture in your phone’s photo library.

WHAT TO PREPARE
Physician Certification: Schedule a medical marijuana card evaluation with a licensed medical marijuana doctor. The doctor will fill out and submit your certification form directly to the state. Our team at Missouri Cannabis Clinic would be happy to help! You can do your appointment entirely over the phone by signing up here.
Additional Documents: When you submit your medical marijuana card application on the state website, you’ll need to provide a couple other things. You’ll be asked to upload a recent color photo that clearly shows your face, as well as a picture of your government-issued ID. The ID does not have to be Missouri-issued, and it is alright if it is expired.
