How Can I Change my Growing Preference After Submitting my Application?
When the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) first started accepting applications, patients had the option to pay an additional $100 fee in order to start growing. If you changed your mind and decided after you submitted your application that you wanted to grow your own, you were out of luck. Patients were told to wait for the day when DHSS would allow you to update your application. Well, that day has finally come! Patients can now update their application from home and make changes to the cultivation section. We’ll walk you through step by step on how to make those changes.
Step 1: Log into your account using the Missouri Medical Marijuana Program Portal. The username will be your email address. If you can’t remember your password, click the “forgot password” button to receive a password reset link in your email inbox.
Step 2: Click “Create New Application” and then select “Patient Update.”
Step 3: Select your patient license number. This is the number on the front of your Patient Identification Card. For most folks, you will only see one option here.
Step 4: Select the changes you want to make. If you want to start growing but did not inform the state on your original application, you will mark “yes” to the question “Does this Update involve a change in your desire to cultivate medical marijuana?” You can also update your name, address, and more!
Step 5: Click “Save” and go to the “Questions” tab. You will need to change your answer to the question “Do you intend to cultivate medical marijuana?” from no to yes. Explain where your room is located (garage, closet, spare bedroom, basement), and how it is secured (the room should be locked with a unique key). Make sure you also explain that the room will ONLY be accessed by you. If you are growing outdoors, the area will need to be enclosed with a fence and cannot be visible from a neighbor’s property. However, if you are sharing the room with a fellow licensed patient, you may state the room will ONLY be accessed by the two of you.
Step 6: Complete payment. The state will charge you a $100 fee, plus a service fee, to process your updated application.
Step 7: Wait for approval. The state has up to 30 days to process your updated application. You will be notified via email when you are able to begin growing!
