Marijuana helps to relieve people’s chronic pain, so some have asked, why not animals’ pain?. This new line of thinking has led to the rise of companies such as PetHonesty and Fur Goodness Sake, which specialize in making CBD products for our canine friends. Currently, the American Kennel Club’s Canine Health Foundation is sponsoring a study, through the Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, that will evaluate the use of CBD in treatment-resistant epileptic dogs.
Legal tender
Hemp, another member of the cannabis family, was a form of currency at one point in our country’s history. Throughout the 1600s, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland all allowed hemp to be exchanged as legal tender.
A Deterrent for Stroke Damage
Research from the University of Nottingham shows that cannabis may help protect the brain from damage caused by a stroke through reducing the size of the area affected by the stroke.
Other research shows that the plant may help protect the brain after other traumatic events like concussions.
A deity
Cannabis became an official idol of worship after the the First Church of Cannabis was set up in Indiana nearly five years ago. While the church does not sell what the “Cannaterians” call “the healing plant,” it will allow members to smoke the substance inside. They even have a version of their own ten commandments, called the Deity Dozen.
A Milk-Substitute
Substitutes for cow’s milk are extremely popular today. There’s soy milk, coconut milk, rice milk…And now, there’s hemp milk.
Hemp milk is produced from the seeds of the cannabis plant. First, the seeds are blended with water. Then, the mixture is strained. Overall, the process is fairly similar to making nut milk. People say that it is surprisingly creamy!
